Welcome! Let’s Get Started
It is said we fear the unknown, which is why many people shy away from receiving therapy. It can be intimidating walking into your therapist’s office for the very first time, not knowing what to expect. I offer a 15-minute free consultation call. The initial phone consult gives you an opportunity to ask questions and decide if you’d like to work with me. It also helps me to get a sense of what you’re looking for help with in therapy. If we are a good fit, then your personal information will be asked to schedule your first session.
What happens in the first session?
The first session reviews the answers to the initial paperwork you completed. You will begin to share your story and your goals for counseling. We are getting to know each other during this session. My hope is to provide you a warm, safe and comfortable place to explore the difficult and vulnerable topics that you are experiencing.
How often will we meet?
You will meet weekly with your therapist for the first 6 to 8 weeks. At this point, we’ll discuss together the progress you are making to determine the frequency of therapy appointments.
Fees and FAQs
Individual sessions (50 minutes) $150.00
EMDR sessions (60 minutes) $165.00, (75 minutes) $185.00
Payment for sessions is expected at the beginning of each session. I do not bill directly to insurance, so although payment is out-of-pocket, it ensures maximum confidentiality and flexibility in treatment approach and length of treatment. I will provide you with the paperwork necessary (e.g., receipts, insurance codes) so that you can seek reimbursement directly from your insurance carrier. I am considered an out-of-network provider. Some questions for your insurance company:
Do I have behavioral health benefits?
Is there a deductible? How much is it and has it been met?
How many sessions per calendar year does my plan cover?
What is the covered amount per therapy session with a licensed mental health counselor?
Is approval required by my primary doctor?
If requested, I will gladly generate an invoice for you to file claims with your carrier.
What is your cancellation policy?
24 hours notice is required for cancelled or rescheduled appointments. Missed appointments are charged in full. Of course, emergencies and illness are considered.
What forms of payment do you accept?
I accept cash, checks, and credit cards (i.e. Visa, Mastercard, etc.)
What about confidentiality?
The relationship between therapist and client is protected by law and information cannot be disclosed without written consent. The only exceptions are if and when there is suspected child abuse/neglect or when the client threatens harm to self or others, in which case every effort is made to ensure the safety of those affected as required by law.
